Research and Planning
Project Description
This Digital Component is in the form of a quiz on the website, which will help to gain public awareness. We used it as a tool to supplement information and created an interaction with our narrative of Affordability within our publication. This is the central thematic we used in order to change perceptions of Affordability.
Project Objectives
-
To engage the audience in a discussion about affordability, through our new lenses of affordability. This will allow people to create a new personal understanding surrounding this concept, and help us to create a more common awareness of the topics connected to affordability.
-
To use the platform as an educational and engagement tool where we can highlight how affordability is connected to complex system-wide issues. By putting this on a widespread platform. We are allowing people to access important information engagingly.
-
To reframe the narrative of affordability to have users understand it’s everyone’s problem. we know as a group, the problem of unaffordability can happen to you and that it might hold you back from the success in the future.
Project Goal
Users will understand that affordability is about choice and opportunity, not money, and that a lack of choices is a result of a system by design.
Recommended Strategy
- CHALLENGE PERCEPTIONS OF AFFORDABILITY
Engaging people to reflect on their own experience through a playful platform.
- AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT
By following a positive quiz approach with the display of the rules and the continuum as an outcome and takeaway.
- SHOWCASE NARRATIVE OF AFFORDABILITY
an educational quiz that includes the information of the book in a personalized manner.
Our Solution and Proposed Strategy
Perspectives on Affordability: A Digital Toolkit
This project is being created to introduce a digital component that supports the information and strategies outlined in our written publication. It will serve as a tool to complement the information and foster interaction within our narrative of Affordability presented in our book. The Digital Component, designed as a quiz on the website, aims to raise public awareness about the work we have undertaken during our time at the Institute without Boundaries. To achieve this, it will highlight key strategies and components related to the overarching theme of Affordability.
This digital component is envisioned as a marketing tool for our publication, utilizing the knowledge gained through our research to emphasize a key aspect of the information collected: Choice. This theme will be central in reshaping perceptions of Affordability."
Persona & User Journey
In developing the Persona & User Journey for the Digital Toolkit on Perspectives on Affordability, we aimed to create a comprehensive and user-centric experience. The persona reflected the users interacting with the toolkit. By understanding his needs, motivations, and pain points, we could tailor the toolkit to address specific user requirements. The user journey mapped out the step-by-step experience, ensuring a seamless and intuitive flow through the digital resources. This strategic approach allows us to not only provide valuable information on affordability but also to engage and empower users in a meaningful way.

Site Flow
Here is a navigation journey that shows users' experience when interacting with a website. It encompasses the seamless progression from one page to another, ensuring an intuitive and user-friendly experience.

Through wireframes, we outlined the layout and functionality of the toolkit, establishing the skeletal framework that will guide the final design. This phase enabled us to strategically position elements, such as information modules and interactive features, ensuring an intuitive and user-friendly interface. Our users were diverse, as they were residents with different backgrounds and tech knowledge. Our main goal was to simply design the digital quiz to make it easy and doable for everyone.
Wireframing lays the groundwork for a well-organized and engaging toolkit that aligns seamlessly with our objectives in communicating diverse perspectives on affordability.
Final Design
The final design of the Digital Toolkit for Perspectives on Affordability is intentionally straightforward, user-friendly and easy to understand.
Users can actively engage with the toolkit by answering questions, resulting in a personalized personality profile that aligns with one of the projects showcased in the exhibit. This personalized outcome provides users with information to comprehend the research better and engage with the broader project themes.
